Run a test print
Prove the paper, the layout and the margins before an event rather than during one.
A test print puts your template on real paper with empty photo slots, so you can check the paper, the layout and the margins without shooting a session. It is the cheapest way to find a problem before a client is standing in front of you.
Run one
- Open the template in the Template editor.
- Tap Test print.
- The confirmation names the printer it went to. If it says no printer is set, the job went to the iOS print dialog instead of your fleet.
What to look at
- The paper. Did it print on the size you expect, or get scaled onto something larger?
- The slot numbers. Empty slots are numbered in capture order, so you can confirm the shots will land where you think.
- The margins. Even all the way round? On a two-up sheet, is the outer margin about half the middle gap? If not, see edge compensation.
- Anything you did not design. A stray line or frame means something is wrong — tell us rather than working around it.
